Hi.
I'm running openSUSE 12.3 64-bit and every time an audio CD is inserted, K3b segmentation faults. 1. If I insert a disc, I get the usual Audio CD pop-up with five options, two of them with K3b. If I select either "Extra Digital Audio with K3b" or "Copy with K3b", K3b will load and immediately segfault. 2. If I load K3b and then insert an audio CD, K3b will immediately segfault. What do I need to report and to whom? Anyone else run into this problem? Solutions? Thanks! Example segfault: ----- Application: K3b (k3b), signal: Segmentation fault Using host libthread_db library "/lib64/libthread_db.so.1". Bug reports are done on http://bugs.kde.org. but you need to install debugging symbols first, mostly for libkcddb. Normally Dr. Konqi, the KDE crash handler, will take care of that, there is a button that allows you to install debugging packages.
Else, please have a look here on how to get debugging information for your crash reports: http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tut ... s#openSUSE
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

As a workaround, try disabling the options concerning CDDB metadata retrieval if present, in K3b settings.

I installed the debug symbols and added my report. Thanks for the info on that!
The work-around, disabling cddb look-up worked. K3b->Settings->Configure K3b...->CDDB->Enable freedb lookup UNCHECKED. Thanks! |
