Hello, I am using K3b 2.02 under KDE 4.11.2 under Fedora 19.

I have a DVD .iso I created, which I am trying to burn. The operating system detects the empty disc, and K3b says there is an "Empty DVD-R Medium" in the top-lefthand pane, but the "Burn Image" dialog continues to say, "Please insert an empty DVD or Blu-ray medium".

Any ideas as to how I can resolve this? Brasero also doesn't detect the empty disc, never has actually, but this is the first time K3b is doing it as well.

If you open the Burn Image dialog after K3b has detected the empty disc, does this have any effect?
Also, is the image small enough to fit on the single layer DVD-R disc?

Thanks Cooks, and sorry for the delay in getting back to this thread. The problem turned out not to be with k3b, but with my DVD authoring application under-estimating the size of the finished product (due to mencoder from what I gather), and generating a too-large .iso file.

I was actually able to burn one disk in Windows using a freeware app called "ImgBurn", as it allowed me to truncate the video file to fit on the disk (the truncated part was small enough to not notice).

I looked around in k3b for a "truncate" option, but I couldn't find one.

Fortunately I have found a way to modify my authoring application (DeVeDe), so that it thinks the DVD is smaller than it is, which should prevent an overly large .iso file in the future.
