Trouble burning an iso with K3b

Thu Dec 26, 2013 10:23 pm
When trying to burn an iso with K3b, I am receiving message "cdrecord returned an unknown error (code 255)."

Below is the debugging output received. I am using PCLinuxOS64 - KDE and am current on updates. Less than two week ago, I burned an iso in the same manner with no problems.

I have read the K3b manual and searched my PCLOS forum and this KDE forum without identifying a solution. Thanks ahead of time for your assistance.

Have you performed any updates recently? Does the burning process actually begin, or does it immediately fail?

I observe the following bits of information from the output which seem relevant:
Code: Select all
/usr/bin/wodim: Sorry, no CD/DVD-Recorder or unsupported CD/DVD-Recorder found on this target.
/usr/bin/wodim: Drive does not support TAO recording.
/usr/bin/wodim: Illegal write mode for this drive.

Perhaps you could check the burning settings, and verify that TAO is not selected?
