Hi!

I want to backup selected files from a user directory -- but there are many thousands to consider, most of which I don't need.

I noted that the .k3b project file contains pkzipped mimetype and maindata.xml files -- but when i edit the maindata.xml file and run zip, k3b will not recognize the project file as valid.

The timestamps on the files within my k3b file are both "02-07-2106 01:28". Is that important? If so, how to I get zip to produce dates beyond 2038?

have you looked at backup specific programs like Luckybackup, Kup, Kbackup, etc ..... Obviously there are non-KDE options as well

if you want other peoples opinion on which tool is most appropriate open a thread in a more appropriate forum like System & Utilities
