I have been looking for a good way to put wav files on a DVD and play it on PC, home, and car stereo DVD players. I know DVD's are different from CD's, but I also think that this is somewhat simple for the people who deal with audio and DVD's. Yes, there is some software available for windows but I have tried 3 of them (trials) but none work very well. They are very slow and more involved with video than audio. A music CD is easily opened by almost all CD players and almost all DVD players. What info, codes, and instructions are on a CD that cannot be put on a DVD? Is there a way to finalize and close a DVD to make it playable? If I burn songs on a DVD with K3b they are data files that I can play with VLC if I select them one at a time. If I want them to toggle through all the songs I have to add them to the VLC play list first, that does not make it playable in cars or other DVD players. It would be a huge benefit to be able to either add the necessary info or finalize and close the DVD so it was playable on DVD players. I have a little over 5,000 vinyl albums that I would like to put on DVD's, it would be very nice to use K3b and have a way to make the DVD playable. I do realize that there are other options for music storage and playback but DVD's are a simple solution when I want to send the recorded songs to other people. Music on a DVD sounds much better than a CD and I do not record or play MP3's. I sent this question to you at K3b because I am pretty sure you will know about this, and I would appreciate any help you can offer to do this on Linux Mint.

K3b requires cd media to write a "audio cd project" so in it's present form I don't think its a solution
I would suggest trying command line as described here http://linuxconfig.org/burn-your-music- ... mmand-line also I would try asking in a more dvd'ish or cd'ish centered forum, something like http://forum.doom9.org/ |
