edit: HA, I posted too soon, the disc completed "successfully" but I cannot copy or read anything from it. The files are all there but they are worthless. Copying results in this message "Error splicing file: Input/output error". I am getting really tired of your **** k3b.

I am editing my original post. In short, I have k3b working with bluray thanks to other people's fine work fixing your program. If you are going to release your work, at least warn the user about not supporting bluray. Better yet, include whatever cdrtools does to make it work. At the very least, make a stickied post about how to do it.

Anybody wanting to burn blurays needs to grab cdrtools, I got it from here
https://launchpad.net/~brandonsnider/+a ... /+packages

then follow these instructions from post #9
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php? ... bac14ac6a7

Unpack and compile (make sure package build-essentials are installed) - cdrtools will now be installed at /opt/schily

Code:

make
sudo make install

Once successfully compiled, open K3b and select "Configure K3b" under Settings. Go to "Programs" and click the "Search" button.

You should see "cdrecord" as one of the programs listed and below it there should be a green check mark next to "/opt/schily/bin/cdrecord". DON'T CLOSE OUT THE SETTINGS DIALOG BOX -- one more thing to do...

Click on the "Advanced" icon in the Settings dialog box (might have to scroll icons down to see it). Check the "Show advanced GUI elements" option. Click OK to close dialog box now.

When you go to burn your BD-R disc, you must select two things above all in order for your burn to work. First, change "writing app" and select "cdrecord". Second, under the Misc tab make sure you select "No multisession" (otherwise k3b will go back to using genisoimage/growisofs and you will encounter same problems).
