Hello.
I'm doing something wrong, but I cannot work out what. I want to burn a mixed mode cd (enhanced cd, multisession cd, whatever terminology you wish to use). I want to burn the standard audio along with cover art and the music as data files, both mp3 and wav/flac (this is an EP, so there's plenty of room ). Basically a complete backup in case I somehow lose the copies on HDD and have to re-rip at some point (and I'm especially paranoid because I've just encountered a 3-download limit with one of the vendors I purchased from, whilst attempting to download a 4th time). Now, I've had it work a couple of times (I've got about 8 of these EPs), but mostly it just fails. The audio is always burnt, no problems there. But I get the second session (the one with the data) only every now and then. I use the exact same settings (the K3b defaults) every time - and yet I get inconsistent results. It's so bad that after I confirmed it had worked with one disc, I immediately burnt a second copy - and the second copy failed. I can't see any pattern here. What am I missing? Thanks, Jason |

Hi!
Although I have posted that "KDE Neon" has absolutely zero problems for me. I have observed exactly the same behaviour when trying to "read" mixed files on a DVD. It "kind of works" to view stuff when I eject and then put the DVD back in. However, the same DVD is seen completely on an old.....................TRUSTY Kubuntu system. So, I have absolutely no clue, but maybe somebody will pop in and give you a trustworthy answer. so hang tight. woodsmoke |
