When I start k3b I get an error message titled 'Syatem Configuration Problem' saying:

"Unable to find cdrskin executable
K3b uses cdrskin in place of cdrecord.
Solution: Install the libburn package which contains cdrskin"

However when I search aptitude it shows these are indeed installed.

Please help.

EDIT:
Now when I (re-)open it the aforementioned warning no longer happens, but rather it crashes entirely when investigating the presence of programs it needs to function. New topic here: viewtopic.php?f=153&t=140747

EDIT2:
After ripping 3x CDs, it started with this behavior where it would no longer open the 'Rip Audio CD' project dialog. So I closed & reopened the main window & now I have a similar warning about it missing dvd+rw-tools, when indeed it is installed. Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/I6QMA

Here's what appears to have solved this:

1)
Code: Select all
sudo aptitude purge k3b libburn4 dvd+rw-tools cdparanoia cdrskin growisofs k3b-data

2)
Code: Select all
sudo apt --install-recommends install k3b libburn4 dvd+rw-tools cdparanoia cdrskin growisofs k3b-data

Note that I still get the crashing problem I mentioned, which remains unsolved at this time over on its thread at the link above...
