Everytime i start a bluray disc project it aborts with this message stortly after starting the disc spinup at the beginning:

Code: Select all

cdrecord has no permission to open the device
modify device settings in K3b to solve this problem.

Can't change any permissions in K3b settings.

The button "Change permissions" quits with this message:

Code: Select all

Unable to execute the action: DBus Backend error: service start org.kde.k3b failed: Cannot launch daemon, file not found or permissions invalid

And here the message of no access to the group:

Code: Select all

In order to give K3b full access to the writer device the current user needs to be added to a group optical

Can't be added with add button. Error:

sudo usermod -a -G optical MYUSERNAME

", but still can't burn a disc.

Then tried:

sudo chmod 4711 /usr/bin/wodim
sudo chmod 4711 /usr/bin/cdrdao
sudo chown root:optical /usr/bin/cdrecord
sudo chown root:optical /usr/bin/wodim
sudo chown root:optical /usr/bin/cdrdao
sudo chown root:optical /usr/bin/growisofs

Doesn't work for me.

Tried on another Linux system and there the burn process aborts immediately with a buffer underrun error, even if everything is set to default write speed.

Any suggestions?
