How is the port/rewrite going? Will it be around for 4.3?

Too slow, I'm afraid.
Funny thing is that it is (sort of) ported to to Qt4/KDE4, but it's so buggy and unfinished that it's nowhere near usable... and unfortunately stability is one of the main requirements for a burner unless you want a lot of waisted cd/dvd media.... I think the problem is that it's leading developer, Sebastian Trueg, is quite busy with developing other KDE software (Nepomuk, i think, probably wrong).

Githzerai is correct that the lead developer is busy with Nepomuk. ( and their Real Life is quite busy as well I think )

i don't know where you get this idea from, lot's of work is being done on k3b, mainly by Michael Malek, and a 2.0 release is very near now.

Note the date of the last post by bcooksley (Feb 2009). Reason is, i moved all relevant k3b topics to this new forum, so everything is in place. Sorry for the confusion |

I believe that was a lot of work done but almost two years how KDE4 is out it is a long time. IMO NERO is a great substitute.
It is just mine opinion. |

K3b for KDE4 is fine as far as I can see; the interface has been tidied up and I use it regularly now for everything I used to do with K3b for KDE3 with, so far, no problems.

Thank you for the link. Now I see (look at 14 response) why they need so many years.
