I have just burned a CD (using K3B) which doesn't play correctly on a stand-alone CD player. The player does play it through starting at the first track and going to the last, but won't start at any interior track. For example, if I press the "4" button the player, which would normally start the 4th track, the player
The time 43m13s is a little short of the actual playing time for the CD, which is actually about 44m47s. The CD plays correctly on my computer using both rhythmbox and smplayer. The CD was made using the method recommended in the K3B Wiki, using a single .wav file for the whole CD and a cue sheet and burning in DAO mode. The first part of the cue file is appended. Does anyone know what the trouble could be? Or how to fix it? The CD plays fine on the stand-alone player except for this problem: no clicks, pops, or pauses.

Can you try burning it with each track as an individual WAV file (drag each WAV file individually onto the disc) and modify tracks in the GUI accordingly, rather than using a single WAV file and custom Cue sheet?

I can do this, and the CD works perfectly. So, I can burn CDs, but still don't know why burning with a cue file doesn't work. Ideas about this are still desired. |

If you wrote the CD in a Lite-ON writer, you need to use cdrecord
for writing and use the RAW mode in order to circumvent a lite-on firmware bug that causes defective time values to be written to the subcode. I recommend to make sure to use the original cdrecord and not the broken fork. |
