When I burn the ISO for Ubuntu 10.04.1 onto a CD all I get when done, is a bunch of files on the CD. These are the same ones that are in the downloaded ISO file. Seems it is just coping the ISO to make an ISO on the CD. I have MD5sumed and all is OK. I'm lost!

An .iso is something like an archive that contains the files and folders of a cd.
You can ether burn the contents or the archive. If you want to boot your pc from this cd you need to burn the contents. If you are using k3b, do this from the tools\burn image cd. |

Are you trying to start an install from a running Windu machine? Get in the BIOS and set the machine to boot from CD/DVD. Insert burned medium, boot machine and the installer will show up. Good luck

Thanks knurpht & nickkefi! I used the tools\burn image method. |
