Setup
VirtualBox: Version 4.0.4 r70112 Host: Mac OS X 10.6.7 Guest: Ubuntu 10.10 / Gnome 2.32.0 ![]() As you can see in the image above, I inserted an old CD in the superdrive. It mounted on the Ubuntu desktop. K3b sees the CD; and yet it reports 1 problem: NO CD/DVD/BD writer found. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? |

VirtualBox only passes through a CD/DVD/BD reader, rather than a writer I believe.

"The virtual CD/DVD drive(s) by default support only reading".

D'oh!
Turns out that the solution is to check Passthrough under CD/DVD Drive attributes in the VirtualBox Storage Dialog. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. |
