Is it possible to convert avi-files into vob directly in k3b? When I add avi-files in DVD-video project, k3b adds them to root DVD directory. It doesn't convert them to vob.
If I really need to convert files before using them in k3b, making dvd-video disc in k3b seems to be realized in not-intuitive way Best regards, Aleksey. |

Seems there's no such option in k3b for automatic conversion to vob-files.
Therefore - I have a proposal for k3b developers for future. Automatic video conversion to vob would be very useful feature |

Beware of trying to overload applications; K3b is a media tool - converting formats is a rather different task. It is better to have one program do one thing well rather than many things only moderately well.

Well, you're right.
Anyway, is there some convenient gui tool for video conversion in KDE? |

here's some possibilities, but starting a new thread with a more focused title (like "best gui to convert video files") would provide better responses from people you have actually done it.
gui's - you could look at handbrake (not kde) or avidemux (there's a qt4 front end), vlc http://tom.zickel.org/vlcmp4/ service menu's - http://fosswire.com/post/2007/11/ffmpeg ... e-manager/ command line - transcode http://www.transcoding.org/cgi-bin/transcode, mencoder (part of mPlayer), ffmpeg |
