Running Mepis, 64 bit. KDE3
I've used K3b before successfully, but on another laptop running 32-bit Mepis. I remembered, after hitting my head against this brick wall a few times, that I also encountered it when I was running the 32-bit OS, and stumbled on how to get around it. All I can recall is that it was unintuitive. I can save ripped audio to files, but trying to save a project, after carefully building from the referenced rip-files, and editing the text as desired, does nothing, whether I try to save from the project tab or from the File|save menu. Strangely (to my eyes anyway) "Save" as opposed to "Save as" is followed by a "saving . . ." message that lingers for several seconds, but it must be saving to dev null or something. I have done a file search to make sure files aren't being written to a location other than the one I've set as the destination, just in case I missed a nuance somewhere that overrode my settings. I can say that it isn't about user file-writing privileges. Footnote: I've tried running K3b in 32-bit Slackware and hit the same barrier. Btw, anyone know if K3b will work with Lightscribe to label cd's? e.g. after installing a module? -- ff |
