I'm wanting to take a .avi, and make it into a DVD. When I open a new project and select the file, then start the burn, I'm given a warning that not all the files are present, and that the DVD will most likely not be playable in a DVD player. Can someone tell me how to do this properly. I tried to open the help menu on my copy of kb3, and I get an error message, so I have no docs. to read for myself.

suggest you try one of the following as you need to convert the avi to .vob format for k3b to be able to burn it to dvd
2ManDVD http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/2M ... tent=99450 KMediaFactory http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/KM ... tent=20121 if the above apps aren't what you want try Google'ing: convert avi vob linux (or such) |

In the past I successfully used mjpegtools for this - but it's a suite of command-line tools, and each tool has its own set of commands, so you do need to print out the man pages. Nevertheless, I transferred 20 years worth of camcorder video using it and all the disks play on a stand-alone player.
