To my knowledge all necessary packages for it to work are installed, mainly virtuoso-minimal.
If I right-click on Nepomuk icon in system tray I get option to uncheck "Suspend File Indexing", and strigi service goes to idle, but I must do that on each reboot.
Also, normal behaviour is for the icon to disappear after a while, but it stays there until right-click.

file indexing is enabled in systemsettings -> desktop search -> basic settings (gotta ask)

also look at ~/.kde/share/config/nepomukserverrc, though they should be consistant

[Service-nepomukfileindexer]
autostart=true

Thanks for answer.
Strigi indexing was always enabled.
I don't know why but now it works, maybe a couple reboots did the trick?
