How can I turn off the Nepomuk Semantic Destop search for all users
I am having some performance issues and I want to turn it off for all users - rather than getting every users to do it themselves Many Thanks |

There is a configuration file named "nepomukserverrc" located in $(kde4-config --localprefix)share/config directory with next group:
You could write a script that changes that value to false and in next user login Nepomuk will be disabled.

Can I just dump a modified version of that file into users /home/fsdkjsd/.kde4 etc directory
on the server. I could just write a little script to do that Mal |

Yes, it is fully possible to do that, assuming your home directories are mounted off a server.

I know this is the wrong forum but do you happen to know if there is a similar thing
for 'system settings , startup and shutdown, session management, start with an empty session' Ta Mal |

You are right, this is the wrong forum .
I'm not totally sure but I think your file is ksmserverrc but I don't remember the property name. Probably something with login in the name.
