Nepoogle v1.0 is released

Fri Mar 29, 2013 10:17 pm
I just released a new Nepoogle's version ported to Nepomuk2 and with a new query engine that supports changes made in Nepomuk since KDE 4.9. For this reason Nepoogle v1.0 needs at least KDE 4.10.1 to work.

In this version edition still is in early stages but I'm planning to release in brief a more mature version with error messages, a feature finally available in Nepomuk.

Photography lovers probably found interesting the new shortcuts flash, meteringmode and whitebalance because Nepoogle supports it's real values and not it's numeric values. For example this is a valid search string:
Code: Select all
flash:yes and meteringmode:Partial and whitebalance:Automatic

New in this version, but not in git, is the support for dates and times. More information is available in Nepoogle's help but here are some examples:
Code: Select all
contentcreated:2012 -- year 2012
contentcreated:12m -- December
contentcreated:30d -- day 30
contentcreated:2012-12-30 -- yyyy-mm-dd format

Sadly this version needs Nepomuk2 Python Bindings not available yet in KDE, but you can easily install it from a git repository available here:
http://quickgit.kde.org/?p=scratch%2Fsedwards%2Fpykde4nepomuk2.git

You can download Nepoogle from git repository, https://github.com/serantes/nepoogle, or from kde-apps, http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Nepoogle?content=145505.

As always comments and suggestions are welcome.

Since this git's release I improved a little bit query syntax so finally I added parenthesis support so something like next works:
Code: Select all
(performer:beyoncé or performer:adele) and (contentcreated:2011 or (contentcreated:>2000 and contentcreated:<2005))

I just added support for sorting results using --sort command. For example:
Code: Select all
contacts: --sort:-nao:numericRating,nco:fullname
This search string displays all my contacts sorted descending by rating and order ascending by fullname.

Just added support to emails in results view and a three shortcuts related to emails: to (email to), from (email from) and subject.

Changes are available in git but, as I'm not using Akonadi, some feedback would be appreciated.
