Nepomuk tags and metadata - gnome/tracker compatibility?

Hi, I was just wondering if nepomuk metadata is compatible with tracker. I'd quite like to be able to use gnome/kde interchangeably, so before I start tagging I want to make sure I'm not going to lose all these tags when using gnome, or if I decide to switch to it at some point in the future!

Would I need to do anything to copy the metadata over if I switched to gnome or would it just work 'out of the box'?

As far as I know, there is not a complete compatibility, since tracker have forked the ontologies (definitions, to make it very simple, although inaccurate) used by Nepomuk, and they added more elements that Nepomuk doesn't use.

OK thanks - would it still work to an extent? Do I need to do anything to make this work?

could you not install & use Tracker in KDE or Nepomuk in Gnome?
