Every time I log into my computer, Nepomuk immediately crashes. After restarting it, I get the systray icon. If I hover over it I see "optimizing search database". If I right click I just see NepomukMigrator. Clicking on it does nothing. Going to Desktop Search in system settings I see that
"Desktop Search services are active"- clicking on details just show Files and a number and Emails and a number. "File indexing service not running" - clicking on suspend multiple times does nothing "Email indexing service is suspended" - clicking on suspend turns it into resume then clicking again it says "Ready to index data (0%)" What should I do to get this working again? Thought of deleting the database and starting again, but I'd rather not deal with losing my labels if possible. |

After logging in, please ensure no Nepomuk processes (except "nepomukcontroller") are running on your system, then run "nepomukserver" in a terminal and post the output here. Please be aware that if your database is very large, it may take a bit of time for the migration to complete.

How do I make sure no Nepomuk processes are running? And if they are, how do I stop them? |

Based on the backtrace you've provided it appears Nepomuk is crashing while it is attempting to migrate your data. Unfortunately this means the migration can never complete.

OK, fine. If I need to start over, I need to start over. What's the best way to do this? |

there should be an option to start fresh on the migration options window (see below) if not:
1) in systemsettings disable Nepomuk 2) remove the folder $KDEHOME/share/apps/nepomuk 3) re-enable Nepomuk, your settings should have been save but double check |

Had to delete it manually. Nepomuk no longer crashes on startup. Yay.
