I'm on Kubuntu 14:10 with Plasma and KDE 5.2 and Dolphin 4.14.2.
Semantic Desktop, first with Nepomuk and now with Baloo, is something that has always fascinated me, but unfortunately it never worked very well for various reasons.
Now, thanks to Baloo and Vishesh Handa who took over the development, it seems that things are better, and that the future is even better.

Practically in Plasma 5.2 I finally managed to create a folder in Dolphin semantic search with a custom tag, which seems very useful indeed in Dolphin as you know are the default folders as semantic (Video, Images, Audio, Documents) which are very useful and appreciated by users.

The tags kioslave is quite basic and does not allow complex queries. However we do have a `baloosearch` kioslave which will allow you to do what you want. Here are some examples -

baloosearch://?query=tag:Marco OR tag:Sara
baloosearch://?query=tag:Marco tag:Sara
baloosearch://?query=(tag:Marco AND tag:Sara) OR (tag:Marco AND tag:John)
baloosearch://?query=type:Image AND tag:Marco

In order to search for time, you can use the `modified` property. There isn't much documentation regarding the properties that are exposed. It would be great if you (or someone else) could help write some.

Yes. Dolphin is still in Qt4. Until the KF5 version is shipped (another 3 months). It will not get access to these features.

You can still use -
* kioclient5 ls 'baloosearch://?query=word'
* Use the Folder widget in Plasma desktop

Hey lazyit, you might want to look into tagsistant[1], tmsu[2] or dantalian[3] for your semantic tagging needs. These are semantic filesystems.
