Hello, (hoping I'm posting this in the right section).
I'm using Kubuntu for a while, so I installed it on my computer work. But for some reasons, on this computer, Baloo is using a LOT of cpu. Every "fix" I found on the internet was disabling it. This is what I'm doing recently by killing it using htop, otherwise my computer is way too slow and I'm not able to work. It even makes the computer crash after a while because the CPU is overheating. Here's a classic htop on the computer : https://ibb.co/sFY7bp1 baloo_file_extractor is using ~100% of a core baloorunner is using ~100% of an other core. This permanently. How to prevent this ? I'm using Kubuntu 18.04 with plasmashell 5.12.9. CPU : Intel Core i5-9500@3.00GHz Thanks for your help! |

I strongly suggest you upgrade to Kubuntu 20.04 LTS, the run the following from the command line:
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Sorry for the late answer, I had to wait for late july to be able to upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04. Now it works fine! Thanks for your help. |
