File indexer not working

Tue Jun 09, 2020 12:03 pm
Running KDE Plasma on Manjaro.

Recently, I was facing some configuration problems. So, I manually deleted some files and folders in ~/.config and ~/.local. It is quite likely that I deleted some files that I should not have deleted.

But now, the file indexer is not working as expected. krunner does not show any file search results. balooctl status shows Baloo Index could not be opened.

File index Monitor takes a long time to launch and looks as shown in the attached image.

Image

ksysguard shows baloo_file and baloorunner processes with almost no CPU usage.

How do I get file indexer working? I do not mind resetting it completely.

same problem here, I guess: index not working, and Dolphin very, very slow in opening a folder.
