Over a few days, desktop search begins showing files are located in folders which they aren't in.
For example I have a file in my {HOME}/Videos folder called "Screencast 2019-12-30 12:24:03.mp4" After doing
And allowing baloo time to reindex, the file shows up where it should. However, over the course of a few days it shows up where it should and in some random new folder (but it isn't actually located in the random new folder). These new false positives also appear when I do
as well. The only thing out of the ordinary I about my setup I can think of is that I'm using ZFS in my home folder. Has anyone else been experiencing this? I am currently on KDE Neon preview release of 20.04, but I have also seen this happening on Kubuntu 20.04. |

After doing some looking over my logs, I'm see strange messages such as these in the journal
I haven't renamed any of these. And there are lots of individual files that are being "renamed" by baloo_file as well. |

Is there another user on your computer? No application is renaming anything unless it is told to do so explicitly, so either another user who has access does or there is a script running you don't know about. Who/what is wilddog?
