Hi,
unfortunately, even with KDE 4.5 RC2 the desktop search still does not work reliably. Here an example: I have a document named "abc-specs.doc". When I search for "abc" the file is properly found. When I instead search for "abc-specs" no results are returned. There are a few other examples where entering some parts of the filename return no results, while other parts do return the correct results. I still haven't found any pattern to this. It doesn't seem to be related to the minus character. Honestly, I am tempted to think that this whole semantic desktop thing is really flawed by design. |

Is that file in a directory which is selected to be indexed by Strigi? Also, is Strigi enabled, and has it's indexing completed?

Yes, to all of your questions.
Otherwise, the file probably wouldn't show up at all. |

This is likely caused by the "-" in the file name. Does finding a file without the dash work?
