[SOLVED] KDE 4.6 and nepomuk search

Thu Feb 10, 2011 12:15 pm
Hi!

I just installed KDE 4.6 from KDE 4.5 on an openSUSE 11.3 and my folder views with nepomuk queries don't work anymore.

On the other side, I don't know how do a query in Dolphin. In KDE 4.5 there is a text input where you can write an expression but seems that this is not supported KDE 4.6.

Any help?

Update:

I do some test and seems that nepomuksearch still works, for example next query generated by picture frame works:

Code: Select all
nepomuksearch:/file_3A_2F_2F_2Fhome_2Fignacio_2Fstorage_2Fpictures_2FJap_25C3_25B3n_2F_25E7_259F_25B3_25E5_258E_259F_25E3_2581_2595_25E3_2581_25A8_25E3_2581_25BF_2Fbigcomicspiritssatomi5_5Fresize.jpg?encodedquery=%3C%3Fxml%20version%3D%221.0%22%3F%3E%3Cfilequery%20queryFiles%3D%22true%22%20queryFolders%3D%22false%22%20limit%3D%220%22%20offset%3D%220%22%3E%3Cand%3E%3Cor%3E%3Ccomparison%20property%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.semanticdesktop.org%2Fontologies%2F2007%2F08%2F15%2Fnao%23hasTag%22%20comparator%3D%22%3A%22%20inverted%3D%22false%22%3E%3Cliteral%20datatype%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2001%2FXMLSchema%23string%22%3Eishihara%20satomi%3C%2Fliteral%3E%3C%2Fcomparison%3E%3Ccomparison%20property%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.semanticdesktop.org%2Fontologies%2F2007%2F11%2F01%2Fpimo%23hasTag%22%20comparator%3D%22%3A%22%20inverted%3D%22false%22%3E%3Cliteral%20datatype%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2001%2FXMLSchema%23string%22%3Eishihara%20satomi%3C%2Fliteral%3E%3C%2Fcomparison%3E%3C%2For%3E%3C%2Fand%3E%3C%2Ffilequery%3E%0A&userquery=hasTag%3A%22ishihara%20satomi%22

an easy one by the way. On the other side my old query that works fine in KDE 4.5 don't works in KDE 4.6

Code: Select all
nepomuksearch:/ hasTag:'no vista' and hasTag:'película'

the message error is "Could not start process Unable to create io-slave: klauncher said: Unknown protocol"

Try removing the spaces from your url, replacing them with %20 if needed.

Thank you for your answer but sadly don't works. I even try a simple query
Code: Select all
nepomuksearch:/hasTag:dorama

and no luck :(.

Any other ideas? Is Nepomuk working in KDE 4.6?

You could enable the "filter" panel (F12 by default, otherwise located in View->Panels.

That being said, I have a similar problem. In 4.5, I had saved a couple of searches to the places-sidebar. Those still work - for files that were tagged in 4.5. Files that I tagged once I had upgraded to 4.6 refuses to show up. The tag is shown in the popup shown if I let the pointer hover above the file though.

Furthermore, the tags are shown in the filter-panel I mentioned but I never get any results from it. Same tag that (sort of) works when I use the saved search, mind you.

No error messages of any kind so I'm at a loss to what could be wrong. Clearly nepomuk is at least partially working, since otherwise my old saved searches wouldn't work either.

I try the new Filter panel but is a totally mess. I wish to know if old query method is broken or it's been changed for this filter panel. Someone knows?

By the way, the new query syntax seems to be something like:

nepomuksearch:/has tag:'a tag'?encodedquery=<?xml version="1.0"?><filequery queryFiles="true" queryFolders="true" limit="0" offset="0" fullTextScoring="false" fullTextScoringOrder="desc" flags=""><comparison property="http://www.semanticdesktop.org/ontologies/2007/08/15/nao#hasTag" comparator="=" inverted="false"><resource uri="nepomuk:/res/a161b4dd-106a-45d4-939d-ca5b51720ee8"/></comparison></filequery>

Someone knows where there is documentation about this new syntax?

A new syntax that is not compatible with previous one. More information here:
