Strigi fails to work in KDE 4.6.2

Sat May 07, 2011 1:17 am
Greetings, colleagues!

I've installed KDE 4.6.2 (from http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... SUSE_11.4/) and I've noticed that Strigi fails to work. In my System Settings I have message that Strigi haven't started, although it should (the checkbox to strart Srtigi is active).

The process virtuoso-t is constantly suspended in the system.

Please, help.

OS: OpenSuse 11.4 64 bit.

P.S. Some bugs are resolved in KDE 4.6.2 compared to 4.6.00, so I would like to stay with KDE 4.6.2. However, I need Strigi search very much and in KDE 4.6.00 it worked.

The constant suspension of the virtuoso-t process, which is crucial to the operation of Nepomuk and Strigi is likely the cause of this problem.

Do you need the information stored in Nepomuk? (ie. do you have lots of tags/ratings/etc on files). If not, please log out of KDE, login using a virtual terminal, ensure that all nepomuk*, akonadi* and virtuoso-t processes have been ended, then remove ~/.kde4/share/apps/nepomuk and login again.
