Managing tags

Mon Oct 17, 2011 1:21 pm
Hello all

Maybe this is a known thing, I just couldn't find any answers by myself.

Is it possible to manage/delete tags from Nepomuk/Strigi? and how?
For example if I mis-type a tag, then I'd like to change its name to the correct one (f. example I could write "vacaton" instead of "vacation"), but I couldn't find an easy way to do this. The solution for now is to create a new tag with the correct name, and still keep in the database the mis-spelled tag, though "containing" no files..at least it's what I did.
Is there a way to rename a tag, to delete the "empty" ones and so on?

I found out that this is possible from KMail Settings Window (Appearance -> Message tags), but I guess this shouldn't be the (only/better) place?

Thanks for help :)

should be available in the information panel in Dolphin http://userbase.kde.org/Dolphin/File_Management
Information

The information panel can be activated via View -> Panels -> Information (keyboard shortcut F11). This panel displays a preview or an icon of the currently selected file/folder or of the file/folder below the mouse cursor. Some additional information like change date or size to the file/folder is displayed as well.

The information panel offers the possibility to rate files, add a comment or tag a file. This is one of the interfaces to the semantic Desktop Nepomuk which provides the advantages of the semantic web for the desktop. Starting from KDE 4.2 it is possible to search for the semantic links given by the tags.
