Hello. I've recently decided to get back into digital painting (my Intuos 2 still works perfectly!). Long story short, I'd like a brush that chooses a specific color from a different layer on the photo on click, then paints with that color. I'd like to be able to choose/ignore which layer(s) it pulls the color from. It'd also be great if it uses a color selector radius that's separate from the brush radius, but using the tool settings from the normal color selector tool will be fine too.
The most obvious application for this would be to have a quick and cheap way to paint over photographs, which is basically what I need it for. Also, as far as how robust this can be, I can see this tool being extended much further. Here are some things I could think of: -Only pull certain channels from each layer that you want the tool to look at. -Only pull color after a certain number of steps, and jitter the color between those steps. -Blend between two colors/brush settings/brush styles between each color change. -Use a color based on what is on a certain layer, but shift/randomize the hue/saturation/etc. on it. If anyone decides to roll with this, please implement the most basic version before you go wild with the features. I just need that for what I'd like to do. Thanks for your time, Elliot |
