Hi guys! Can you make a feature that automatically reloads open file when it was rewritten in a file system?
When I working in 3d Coat I often use function called "projection painting in external editor" Here's how it works: 1. It makes a screenshot of 3d model with layers 2. Save it as PSD 3. Opening it in 2d editor 4. You make overpaint and hit save 5. When you save a file, 3d coat sees that the file was changed, it opens file and project image to the model I use Krita as external editor for 3d Coat. It open another instance of the same file instead of reload it. For example, Photoshop reload opened file in the same window when it was changed. Same behavior I expect from the Krita with a small tweak. When Photoshop sees that file was rewritten it popup window with options: "Do you want to reload file? Yes/No" So I want to see the tertiary option "Always yes for this file" Photoshop behavior https://yadi.sk/i/R7vpnw3p5qF84w Krita behavior https://yadi.sk/i/gYRtxWF7cGoBkw |

Have you though about opening a feature request (wish) at https://bugs.kde.org/describecomponents ... duct=krita ? There it will be easier for developers to keep track of it, and you and other people can vote the feature request for it to gain visibility among developers.

Gallaecio, we usually ask people to start a discussion about new features here, on the forum, and only when there's been a bit of back-and-forth and interest and prototype to make a wish bug in bugzilla. With 417 open feature requests in bugzilla, we need to vet ideas before we move them to the next stage.

I fully support the author of the topic. Auto-update is needed. Not only automatic, but also manual. I'm sure many people lack this, but people will not write about it, they will just use Photoshop.

I need this in order to see the result after compositing. Therefore, I want to update any file, not just psd or kra. Now you have to use Photoshop for this. I would gladly replace it with Krita.

File layers do that, though they aren't editable in Krita.
(And, please, please, please remarks like "I'm sure many people lack this, but people will not write about it, they will just use Photoshop." are NOT motivating at all. All that sort of remark does is make sure your request goes to the bottom of the pile.) |
