Sorry about this, but I'm lost. I put the files where? I have no /krita/plugins/extensions/dockers/ (Arch). Or do I really need to install the whole Office suite? I'd rather just have Krita.

The only way to install is now to compile it. You can compile either 2.3 or git version. For git version you need the following:
Read this: http://community.kde.org/Calligra/Build ... g_Calligra and before building you need to do: git checkout origin/krita-animator-plugin-mlshi git merge master (may be there is a better way, but this should work) After that you need to build just as in instruction (and there is option to compile only Krita there). If you want to build 2.3 with plugin, you will need to download calligra 2.3 source code and then manually copy files from https://projects.kde.org/projects/calli ... ns/dockers. You need to copy animatordocker directory and CMakeLists.txt (or instead of copying CMakeLists you can just add the following line to it: "add_subdirectory(animatordocker)" ). And then build as in instruction. UPDATE No git merge master is required now. It is only optional to have the freshest code base. |

Thanks for the reply, and thanks for your work on this. I hope to give this a go soon.

This extension looks extremely interesting and is the reason I'm now trying out Krita.
I haven't been able to test this animation feature though... Haven't been able to compile Krita with it yet... I hope to fix this soon. Also hoping your progress goes well. Thank you and keep up the great work! |

I'll givre that a try again soon. I had some missing dependencies or such last time I tried and was in a hurry.
Thank you! |

If you're on *Ubuntu (and derivatives like Mint), openSUSE, Fedora or Chakra Linux, it'll install the dependencies for you now. ![]() |

A little feedback/news for this animation plugin:
First times I tried it, it used to work very fine, providing light-table and play-on-canvas preview. Too bad, since some updates in master, now it's a little broken: canvas display has some issues when switching frame and play preview (only refresh part of the frame…), and a few other bugs here and there. Good luck Torio for fixing this, I'm looking forward your progress! |

I didn't post updates here, but plugin is being developed and has several new features now:
Note that new version is in krita-animator-plugin-new-mlshi branch because I have recently rewritten it. You can see my blog, I post updates there quite regularly now. |

Great news!
(Could one wish for a ppa? I still haven't been able to install and try this...) |

I don't think I will make a ppa, because I don't use Ubuntu and because it will probably take some time on updating. However, after releasing 2.4 I will experiment with binary distribution and compatibility. And hopefully I'll be able to make simple binaries (just tar.gz, which should be extracted to /) that will work on many systems... This is quite possible, but I haven't tried yet and so unsure about result. Btw, have you tried to compile krita from deb-src (from project Neon)? I think it should be easier than building manually. If you will be able to do this, it should be quite simple to add support for animator there. |

Yes, no luck wih that. Adding the ppa and reloading sources but the neon packages can't be found... |
