I've been using Kubuntu 10.10 for a while, and I got the urge to try a more "pure" Debian with KDE. I installed the Debian Wheezy netinstall and a full KDE 4.7.4.
The desktop widgets in Kubuntu were more transparent than they are in Debian/KDE. I prefer this, because it lets my set of wallpapers show through. How can I increase the transparency of the desktop widgets? Lane |

In Debian Testing I had to install oxygen-transparent style from source (it's not included in Debian by default yet):
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=127752 Use the building script: http://kde-look.org/content/download.ph ... an=3989552 I used the stable installation method (you'll need to install some build tools like compilers, git client and etc. if you don't have them yet and KDE dev packages such as kdelibs5-dev kde-workspace-dev). After building and installing, choose oxygen-transparent in Workspace Appearance > Window Decorations. Then go to Application Appearance > Style > Widget Style - Oxygen Transparent [Configure] and set the transparency there. That setting is also accessible from oxygen-transparent-settings tool. |
