I have a modern computer, desktop effect with proprietary nvidia drivers work great.
One thing that bothers me is when in Dolphin I'm in a preview mode (and I always want to be in preview mode), till loaded, icons are constantly shuffling, and if directory has lot of files, lot of multimedia it makes it impossible to click on something for couple of seconds because it constantly shuffles the files/directories till loaded. Turning desktop effects off doesn't help much. The things get worse if I look at the files from NFS share.
One more interesting thing is that Dolphin doesn't remember the thumbnails but every time recreates new ones as the directory opens.

Is there a way to turn off the shuffling before everything is loaded?

KDE version 4.8.2
Dolphin version 2.0

I have fixed the problem by deleting /home/mydir/.kde/share/apps/dolphin.
