Hello,
Please have a look at my screenshot: http://img22.otofotki.pl/obrazki/rw960_Bespin.png As you can see there are two colors grey at the bottom and white in the upper part. I played a little bit with color settings but there is only an option for window backgroud. The gradient smooth transition I achieved by using (Bespin) style options. But this is not my desired effect. Tell me please, is there a tool that I could select two colors and set some options for smooth gradient transition, and for example that I want more of one color and less of the other, or that first color I want at the bottom and second in the upper part, or that transition must be vertical or horizontal? I wish I could also achieve similar effect as in second screenshot: http://img22.otofotki.pl/obrazki/bk917_zrzut_ekranu.png I mean this gradient of color on menu bar and column bars. Ideally I wish it was possible to pick an element of interface for example menu bar and choose option - gradient. By the way, the present color options for KDE seems to me very unintuitive. Sorry that I complain, but this preview doesn't show much and I need to save changes and check every element one by one to figure out what element it acctually is. I can see in this dialog option some colors that I can't see in any of my applications. I hope someone could come up with some constructive ideas how to make it more intuitive. |

Do you mean in topic "Does Bespin have its own window decoration?", in help section of Bespin forum?
I read it and posted another question. The tool I am looking for doesn't concern only Bespin, although I try to customize it right now, but concerns KDE color tools in general. |

*Somewhat* Agreed with the OP.
Though most of this can be done with theming, I think a more intuitive system can be made. I'll try to come up with a mockup in a few weeks, when I get some time.

That would be great. I could sugest creating a web page on KDE.org or documentation with some screenshots from most popular KDE applications like Dolphin or Gwenview or other and showing - by arrows or/and description - to which element a specific option of color settings refers. That would help a lot especially for people how are new to KDE. One more issue: I chose desktop plasma theme Air and I wanted to use png file as a style for panel look. But when I choose this file nothing happens. Can anyone tell me where exactly I can change the color of active task (window) on the panel on task manager and its font color? I want to have panel appearance from png file and because it is dark color I need to adjust the font color of tasks both active and inactive, on the panel. Is it possible to just use png file or it needs to be svgz? Someone referred me to these sites http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthread ... ktop-theme http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tut ... asma/Theme http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Plasma ... e_Elements http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tut ... emeDetails Gosh, does it really need to be that complicated? Aren't there any GUI tools for setting colors for plasma? I know that there are setting for plasma but it allows only to choose source of a plasma theme for specific element. There should be a tool for setting colors, transparency, etc. |
