NumLock

Sat Nov 01, 2008 10:35 am
Hi!
Is there any way to turn on NumLock LED on KDE4 startup?
I've read about a bug on bugs.kde.org, so I'm set NumLock to Leave unchaged in KDE3 Control Center, but nothing changed.
OFC in KDE4 Control Center it is set to Turn On. :)
Thanks

That happens to me too, if tell KDE4 to turn on num lock at startup it does, but the LED doesn't light.

Is there any way to fix it? I'm already switched off my NumLock in BIOS.

I don't know, I'm using the num lock without the LED. I usually have the num lock turned on all the time, so it's not a big deal for me.

It seems to be solved. After playing a few days with Sax2 keyboard configurations, I'm figured out that it isn't a KDE 4 bug. It caused by wrong configuration. Read more about this http://forums.opensuse.org/hardware/laptop/403165-mystery-fn-keys.html.
After selecting the right kbd model the NumLock and the other extra Fn functions keys are working.
Good luck.

Glad to hear you managed to resolve the problem, if it is indeed solved could you please add [SOLVED] to the beginning of the thread subject? Thanks in advance.

Strange. I get my NumLock LED to work, but if I press any modifier key such as Alt, Ctrl, Win the NumLock LED is turning off but the NumPad is still working. It's related to X11, I'll investigate this.
