Having trouble installing themes.

Mon Aug 13, 2012 9:30 pm
Hi. I am running Kubuntu 12.04 with KDE version 4.8.4

I am trying to install a cursor theme called "Silver XCursors 3D" through the settings menu
System Settings->Workspace Appearance->Cursor Theme->Get New Theme

It seems to think it is installed (Because the "Install" button has been replaced with an "Uninstall" button). I also had this same problem earlier when trying to install a login screen theme. I realize I can probably download and install the themes manually, but I would really much rather get the menu install working correctly.

Has anyone else had issues with this?

Some themes are not installing here either so I would indeed suggest to download them manually.

You may also need to run "kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental" manually to ensure they are picked up.
