Hello guys,

Does anyone know how to remove Run Command from kde4 menu?

Kiosk infra-structure is not working regarding this option.

I've managed to remove all plugins from krunner but still the user can see his processesses and kill them using/ kactivitymanagerd even with no permissions to execute that file.

Also putting a noexec krunner.desktop in kickoffrc doesn't do the trick

to remove all plugins just had to do at krunnerrc

Code: Select all

[PlasmaRunnerManager]
LaunchCounts=

[Plugins][$i]
Kill RunnerEnabled=false
PowerDevilEnabled=false
bookmarksEnabled=false
calculatorEnabled=false
desktopsessionsEnabled=false
locationsEnabled=false
nepomuksearchEnabled=false
org.kde.activitiesEnabled=false
org.kde.windowedwidgetsEnabled=false
placesEnabled=false
plasma-desktopEnabled=false
recentdocumentsEnabled=false
servicesEnabled=false
shellEnabled=false
solidEnabled=false
webshortcutsEnabled=false
windowsEnabled=false
kabccontactsEnabled=false
org.kde.events_runnerEnabled=false

Ok,

there is or there was a bug in kiosk documentation

the key to prevent execute command is :

run_command=false

instead of

action/run_command=false

Please update the Kiosk documentation when you find mistakes such as this - thanks for posting the solution.

It is corrected now, but it wasn't some time ago.

Actually kiosk require both of them

action/run_command=false is required in desktop context menu
run_command=false is required in kickoff computer tab.

I already updated techbase at http://techbase.kde.org/KDE_System_Administration/Kiosk/Keys#Session_Capability_Restrictions

That also looks like a bug, as they should be restricted by the same Kiosk restriction. I would suggest filing a bug against Kickoff at bugs.kde.org.
