I am attempting to configure a server environment and I want to remove the shutdown options for all users. I want them to only see "logout" (end session) as their only options. I have already restricted shutdown to "only root" but I would like to remove the shutdown and standby options from each users shutdown dialog.
Is there a way to do this on a global level? I am configuring Opensuse 12.2 x64 Many thanks, SCS |

Okay,
I believe I have found my answer. It seems this is as easy as adding: "offerShutdown=false" under the [General] heading in: /etc/kde4/share/config/kdeglobals Anyone see a problem with this? --SCS-- |

Nope, that is the appropriate system wide location. You may also want to make it an immutable setting so it cannot be overridden.
Documentation about how to set immutable options such as this one is available in the Kiosk documentation on KDE Techbase.

@bcooksley
Thanks for the affirmative. I'll check into that "immutable setting". Thanks, S.C.S. |
