Change background color according to .desktop file

Many people use colored folder icons to make them easily distinguishable. Is it possible to make background color for contents of those folders changed accordingly their icon's color, e.g. while in red folder, background should be a little bit reddish.
I guess it would be a nifty feature.

At the moment, the Dolphin component which provides this functionality to both Dolphin and Konqueror uses the colours solely from your system colour scheme. If you'd like this to be implemented, I would suggest posting an entry to the Brainstorm instead?
