Hi all, I'm using KDE 4.11.1 under Fedora 19, and I notice a new entry on the top of the ApplicationLauncher called "Recently Installed".

Is there any way to get rid of this?

I've looked in the "ApplicationLauncher Menu Settings" as well as "Edit Applications" section, but no joy.

Thanks for any suggestions!

OS
From "Application Launcher Settings" uncheck "Show Recently Installed"

Edit: (second thoughts...)
It may be distribution specific ??

It actually toggles 'ShowRecentlyInstalled' in this section of ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc
Code: Select all
[Containments][1][Applets][2][Configuration]
Share=false
ShowAppsByName=false
ShowRecentlyInstalled=true
icon=SUSEgreeter

Ensure you have a backup copy of ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc
then change ShowRecentlyInstalled to =false

It was openSUSE-specific upto KDE 4.10, but got added to standard KDE in 4.11.

This item shows applications that got newly installed in the last 3 days. After 3 days the "Recently Installed" item should disappear by itself (if you don't install new programs of course).

The whole functionality can be turned off in the Application Launcher's settings as already mentioned. (right-click on the launcher's icon to get there)

Bah, I looked in the 'View' settings, but not the options. I think I need new glasses. Thanks Metz, that fixed it.
