Hello Fellow Linux Users!(was kde and not QT ported elsewhere? Jsut curious)

I have a migration issue.
Basically i used to be gnome user, but when my distro offered to upgrade to gnome 3(gentoo) and when requirements started to show rebuild of core system(systemd anyone?) I decided to not go ahead.
So i had choide between Xfce and KDE.
Xfce is all right, but KDE has bells and whistles I dig.

It doesnt have, or by default doesnt have one i find rather required.

In gnome i can save files on Desktop. in KDE, by default i can't do this. How can i replicate this behaviour in Gnome?

Trying to google for it and trying searching forums brings all sort of stuff that is not related to the problem.
So... How do I do it?

welcome,

right click on the desktop -> default desktop settings -> view -> layout -> folder, this gives you what is known as the "folder view" layout with the default folder being ~/Desktop

you could also also add a folder widget to you current layout

OpenSuse Leap 42.1 x64, Plasma 5.x
