Not showing password dots?

Sun May 11, 2014 6:21 pm
I was messing around with some settings late last night (don't recall exactly what) but whenever I resume a session on my laptop or need to enter root password in a dialogue box, the black dots that let me know how many characters I've entered are no longer there, similar to entering the root password in a terminal. Is there any way I can re-enable these? The black dots are there when I first log-in, but if I resume a session that I'm logged in to, they are missing.
