Audio and master channel

Tue Jul 01, 2014 1:08 pm
Occasionally some students manage to mangle their accounts
so that when they right click on the KMix icon and select Master Channel
the onboard audio isn't there ( only the HDMI one shows ). At the moment
we just do a wholesale delete of all the dot files and directories and that works
I was wondering if anyone know a slightly less sledgehammer technique.

Probably should have said it's currently
KDE 4.13.2
opensuse 13.1
but it has always had this problem since openSuse 12.2

Re: Audio and master channel  Topic is solved

This is due to changes in the Pulseaudio. If you open System Settings > Multimedia > Phonon > Audio Hardware Setup, then please ensure "Profile" is set to "Analog Stereo Duplex". In terms of resetting this administratively, please ensure the user is not logged in and delete ~/.pulse and ~/.config/pulse.
