We are revisiting this problem and I wonder if anyone has any new thoughts.
We have a openSUSE 13.1 and KDE 4.13.2 The PC has a Nvidia card with a HD monitor as screen 0 connected via the DVI and screen 1 connected to a touch screen HD monitor via the HDMI. They are set up as extended, that is, screen 1 is to the right of screen 0. Most stuff works fine in that you can drag apps off screen 0 and onto screen 1 by moving it to the right. The mouse cursor moves correctly between the screens. What doesn't work properly is the touch. If you touch the touch screen on the right the cursor lines up perfectly but as you move your finger to the left the cursor moves at twice the distance of your finger so by the time you have got to the left of the touch screen the cursor is all the way over to the left of screen 0. It seems as if the touch has a different view of the geometry than the mouse. Ta Mal |

Just to be certain - the touch screen is operating as if it covers both monitors?

Yes,
both screens are the same resolution to make it easier So putting your finger on the touch screen on the far right the cursor jumps to underneath your finger as expected Then for every pixel you move your finger to the left the cursor moves 2 so by the time your finger is half way across the touch screen the cursor has made it to the far left of the touch By the time you have got to the far left of the touch screen the cursor is right over on the left of the non touch screen Vertically is correct BTW Regards Mal |

First and most important question is which driver is used for the touchevents.
The input is just not mapped "as expected" (that's not even necessarily a bug - you want to be able to reach the other screen w/ the pointer, do you?) This can usually be configured in the driver -> the driver in use is important. (in doubt: "xinput" output) For the most simple case: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/to ... head_setup If you're using eg. the prop. egalax driver, it comes with a config tool. |
