Hi,

I'm using Arch Linux and Plasma 5.3.0 and I'm also an Emacs user. I often use "Ctrl+Alt+k" in Emacs but in plasma 5.3 this key seems to be bound to "switch to next keyboard layout". I went to System settings -> shortcuts -> Global keyboard shortcuts -> KDE keyboard layout switcher, and found the "Ctrl+Alt+k" key binding appears in the "Custom" while the "Default" key binding is "None" for "Switch to Next Keyboard Layout". I changed the key binding to "None", and it worked for current session. That is, I can now use "Ctrl+Alt+k" in Emacs. The problem is that after I log out or reboot the computer, the "Ctrl+Alt+k" key binding is bound to "Switch to Next Keyboard Layout" again. I have to go through the same process again to change it. It's really annoying and I even tried "Remove Component" in the setting page of "KDE keyboard layout switcher", and has no luck.

This is weird since I didn't customize the key binding for keyboard layout switcher, but the "Ctrl+Alt+k" appears in the "Custom" while the "Default" is "None". The more annoying thing is that even I change the key binding, it would restore to "Ctrl+Alt+K" next time I log into the KDE. :( Any ideas about the problem?

Because you are answering to a 6 year old post and the place where to send reviews to has changed place since.
You can always edit the shortcuts configuration file : ~/.config/kglobalshortcutsrc and remove the alternative shortcut.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
