I installed Debian 8.2 KDE (with KDE4 and Plasma4). I then spent a couple of hours going through the settings to customise the appearance to my liking. After rebooting, I found that all the desktop icons were a uniform "cogwheel" appearance, but each icon changed to its correct appearance the instant the mouse passed over it -- but after logging out and in again, the cogwheels were back. The problem is, I've no idea which one of the vast number of settings that I altered caused this problem because it wasn't obvious until after rebooting. Anybody know which setting would do that?
