Some unusual customisation

Sat Jul 30, 2016 12:04 am
Greetings,

I Herve been using KDE Plasma 5 and something with Breeze Dark Theme.

I would appreciate any detailed infos on the following (ie files location to edit eventually, etc):

1.
I would like to gather the control over the bottom panel text properties, color, fonts, SHADOW.

2. I would like to be able to set the panel transparency value or make it completely transparent.
Excerpt from idea section:

Uri_Herrera wrote:

That is the option I woul like to apply to my desktop.

Would you, please point me the exact location of those svg files to rename (remove) to get the complet widget transparency?
Also the place to remove mentioned blur effect.
I am using Breeze Dark Theme.

Thank you in advance.

PS
Perhaps there have been already any transparent theme available?
If yes would it be possible to have some links, please?

Hello,

The panel file is located at /home/yourname/.local/share/plasma/desktoptheme/yourtheme/widgets

and is called panel_background.svg(z). To edit it, open it with either inkscape or a text editor, and remove the parts you want (eg the shadow, or all of it to get it completely transparent). To set a specific transparency level, you may want to edit the hex color values in a text editor. 00=completely transparent, ff=opaque This might not work, since I've not fully tested it.

However, there are already great themes with transparency and without shadow - there, you can take inspiration ;)

Hope, I could help.

Greetings

If you do any unusual customisation then the central heating will increase which will not be good for the device.
