Is it possible to show icons only in taskbar? Now I have in one sense only icons, but I also have a big border around the icons that uses a lot of space.

There is the Icons-only Task Manager. Just unlock the widgets (if they are locked), right click on the task manager, choose alternatives and then select the Icons-only Task Manager
