Empty Desktop

Tue Sep 20, 2016 1:16 pm
I upgraded to FC24. I think I have the newest version of KDE. I have KDE Framework 5.26.0. The problem is I cannot display my desktop in an Activity window and I caǹt figure out how to change that. All of the posts I have found refer to clicking the cashew and chang the settings from there. The problem is there is no cashew in my activity window. I have a screenshot of my activity window. If I right click I get a menu where I can select Settings but nothing there will allow me to change to a Desktop view. I have a screenshot of that settings window. How do I get my Desktop back? How do I add the screenshots to this post?
Thank you.

The KInfoCenter - Info Center will provide the version information: https://www.kde.org/applications/system/kinfocenter/

Screenshots can be added by uploading the picture to the image host and tagging the url by the image tag.

Spectacle has an option to export the picture to the Imgur: http://imgur.com

Or you can upload the images from the Imgur page:

The url (BBC) can be copied from:

If your image is too big you could add a thumbnail: https://api.imgur.com/models/image

The cashew is now called toolbox:

Right click the desktop > Desktop settings > Tweaks

Is the 'Show the desktop toolbox' enabled ?

I am sorry but I had booted up into Gnome. After rebooting and looking carefully at my options, I realized I had been running Gnome. After picking KDE all came up as I want.

I am sorry to waste your time.
